LloydsTSB are an established high street and online bank. SEO City were appointed as the SEO partner for their Business Banking vertical in 2007. This partnershp ceased on 31st December 2009 when, following the merger with HBOS, Lloyds Banking Group appoint MEC as global online marketing partner. The LloydsTSB online team fought in vain to retain SEO City and we understand that results since have deteriorated.

The challenge

LloydsTSB had little or no search profile at the start of the project. HP was tasked to gain first page positions in Google for high volume, generic keywords that would then drive an increased level of traffic (and sales) to their website.

The Results

Since the project commenced, LloydsTSB’s search profile grew steadily. HP also worked in partnership with LloydsTSB’s PPC partner Zenith Optimedia, to optimise the PPC landing pages and increase their Quality Score. This led to a reduction in click costs for the bank.

At the time our partnership ended, all of LloydsTSB’s keywords could be found on page 1 in Google.
